cross academy common. autumn
a couple of day class students are playing card games next to a window. the sofas are mostly empty though, as most people are enjoying one of the last days of sun, even though it is very cold outside. you know because you have just come back, walking among the brown and orange trees, from a class in the greenhouse.
your hands are cold, so you take a sit by the fireplace, on for the first time since last march, and take your books out.
you are tired, last night there was some trouble with night class students. but before you have the chance to doze off, a hand pats your shoulder lightly. you look up, and your eyes meet zero's. 'biology?' he asks. you nod. 'could you help me with unit three? i don't understand the last exercise' he says, sitting next to you. you are shocked, he never asks for help. but you smile and open the book to that page anyway.
