cross academy common, winter
rain keeps falling down, droplets streaming down the windows of the academy. it's very cold outside, snow covering the ground. you are sitting in one of the sofas of the common room, a cup of hot tea on the coffee table. the room is emptier than usual, since winter exams are approaching and many students spend most of their time at the library, even though it's dark outside and almost dinnertime. however, the common room is cosier, and the fire illuminates it in warm colours. you like warm colours, since the snow reminds you of bad times.
however, it is still a bit cold. the first thunder scared the cat who usually rambles around the school, who likes to sit on your lap and warms you up. however, when zero sits on the other side of the sofa and buries his pale nose in his textbook, without even acknowledging your presence-although you know he knows you are there, he went straight to your side-, you stretch your legs and rest them on his lap. his only reaction is raising an eyebrow, but you sigh, content, and keep working.
