cross academy library, summer
it's late summer, and most evenings, the air fills with the smell of rain and the library floor rumbles as the thunderstorm approaches. it is, however, still hot, so you take off your uniform jacket as you sit down in the comfortable chairs of the academy's library and extend your books in front of you. the room is massive, its (probably historical) walls covered in books, the windows covered in summer rain droplets, but light coming through nevertheless, so much that there is barely any need to switch on any lights.
the school year has not started yet. however, some students are already at the academy. this means the timetables are less rigid, and even some of the night class students can be seen around the main campus. night class students such as kaname kuran, who has just entered the big room, a few books under his arm. he sits down nearby, and openes a massive textbook that looks old and difficult to understand. what do the advanced students of the night class study, anyway?
